Question: Also, how do I access the H1 and H2 tags with my WordPress blog ?
Answer: WordPress is probably the leading CMS (content management system), but isn’t completely SEO friendly. First and foremost, I recommend that you download and install one of the SEO plug in’s. Here’s a link to one of the most prominent: http://bit.ly/aOCX81
After that, then go to WordPress and try creating a test page. Remember that Google only cares about the OUTPUT of the website, not how you make it. So create a test page, do your best to insert an H1 and/or H2 tag. Then, output it to the web and see if the H1 / H2 got out into the ‘real’ world of HTML / web. If so, you are good. If not, you have to go back to WordPress and play with the software to get it to properly output.
Now, that said, the H1 / H2 family is VERY important but you can live without it – IF your competitors are not using it (as well as other factors). Remember that success in SEO is about ALL the factors working together, so you can succeed without one factor even if that isn’t optimal. So you might start out without the H1 / H2 tag and see if your Google rank succeeds to the level you want. Then, over time, get to getting the H1 / H2 tag in use.
It’s always competitive in SEO; remember that.
