Question: Does Google customize search results? How do I clear cookies and uncustomize Google?
Answer: You are probably getting customized search results –
1) On the FAR RIGHT TOP of the screen – make sure you LOG OUT of Google. Google customizes results, and if you click frequently on your own website you will erroneously seem to be No. 1.
2) Clear your COOKIES. Google also places Cookies on your browse. Clear your cookies (this is a different process for Firefox and IE. So just Google “clear cookies” for the steps).
3) IP address. Google will monitor your IP address. So if you search from one location (Wichita) on your lap top and another (Kansas City) at home… That can change the results that you see.
For SEO purposes, you area always looking for virgin results, unadulterated by customization, so you have to “fight” Google to prevent its “helpful” customization!
