Question: Will it hinder your SEO performance if you have irrelevant content after the slash on your URL? For example, if my website is hypnosis.com, but I have some loosely related content found at hypnosis.com/religion. This site is just about my views on religion, and isn’t linked from my main site. Its just tagging along on the hosting account rather than getting its own domain name. will this hinder the keyword performance on the main website?
Answer: A website should FOCUS. So in general, non-related content should NOT be on your website. Google looks at keyword density across the site and non-related content WILL hurt you.
