Question: Which of these tools requires verification that you are representing the domain your using the resourses for? I know Google Analytics does this by inserting tags. Right not I don’t have that option, but I’m looking for tools that allow me to get around this requirment.
Question: Does Google show any preference for companies/sites that advertise using AdWords?
Answer: The primary Google tools – Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools – can ONLY be used by people who control the domain, for obvious reasons. The other tools can generally spider / reflect anyone’s public website.
Google doesn’t reward anyone for advertising on AdWords. I am a cynic about Google, but I think in general this is true. If they were to start mixing AdWords vs. natural search… they would get into a LOT of trouble. So these are separate tracks.
That said, I like to get the FREE STUFF of SEO first and then build my PAID advertising on top of it, for maximum ROI.
