Answer: I can never remember these exact character counts, so what I do is remember how to figure them out. Simply go to Google, do some searches, copy / paste the visible meta description and then paste it into WORD. In the REVIEW feature in Word, it will give you the character count. It’s about 155.
As for the H1, Google recommends (in the Google document) that we write like an outline. So a good outline wouldn’t have a bunch of H1’s (highest level category). A good rule of thumb is to REPEAT the TITLE tag in the H1 tag / or make them very similar. You might have two to three H1’s on your HOME Page but on a specific landing page, I try to keep it just to one H1.
Obviously, you can have multiple H2, H3, etc. – the lower levels of the hierarchy as in an outline often have quite a few…
