Question: If I post 3rd party news articles on my web page?blog and put a link on my Facebook page to the story on my blog, does this help my SEO?
Answer: If the content is hosted on your own website, then – yes – that will help your SEO. If you are linking outbound to this content, then – no – it will not help, you will merely be giving up link juice.
The other issue to worry about here is duplicate content. Google is pretty smart at figuring out the original source of content, and it will mark you down if your ‘news’ is really ‘news’ from other sites. So, in general, keyword heavy ORIGINAL content is going to be far and away your most efficient SEO content strategy, whether issued as news or as regular content.
