Question: If I reorganize my content and divide it into keyword happy directories– is there a sort of rule of thumb as to the content word count each page should have? like… anything under 250 words isn’t worth having it’s own page or anything over 2,000 words is too long.
Question: On the HTML sitemap is it ok to have descriptions of the different directories? or does it interfere with the effectiveness of it?
Question: Can you go over the types of META tags?.
Question: An image of roses should be called say wedding-images.jpg. but should even the functional images have keyword heavy filenames as well … like say the navigation… I usually just name it button_faq or nav_faq to keep things organized from a coding standpoint… is that bad? Should I try to use kewords somehow instead?
Answer: Let’s see – 1) in terms of content, heavy keyword content is better. Not really a word limit, but definitely big beefy pages are stronger than text weak pages. 2) On your HTML site map, for Google, you just need a ‘clickable path’ from the home page to EVERY page on your website. Something to make it POSSIBLE for Google to ‘click’ as it were from one page to the others.
3) META TAGS… The ONLY META tags that matter are the TITLE tag and the META DESCRIPTION tag. That’s it.
4) Images. Don’t go overboard. Name most of your files with keyword heavy names, where it is realistic. But if you have buttons and what not, no need to do so.
