Question: Does it hurt your results at all to have keywords with low search volume in addition to the high volume kw?
Answer: Absolutely not. In fact, one of the big goals I teach in our classes is not just to identify your keywords but to prioritize them. It’s not just the high volume keywords that matter – it’s the high value keywords. And often high value keywords are more ‘long tail’ keywords that more appropriately match your value to that of a customer.
For example, a Public Relations Agency (PR Agency), might want to focus not so much on the short tail searches ‘Public Relations’ or ‘PR Agency’ but on longer tail keywords such as ‘Public Relations Firm San Francisco,’ or ‘Technology PR Agency.’ These longer tail keywords are lower value, but higher value.
So as you define your keywords… look for these focused, high value keywords. Riches are in the niches, as they say.
