Question: If the home page is the most important, then it’s probably not a great idea to have my blog on the home page, correct?
Answer: Yes and no. I checked out your site, by the way. I love the layout! But, that’s for humans… So your site needs to continue to be fun, lively, and full of news and blog posts.
This isn’t an either/or question. You should have a ‘stable’ part of your home page – keywords and topics that are ALWAYS important to you and your target customers. For example, probably something like ‘Corporate Training,’ ‘Goal Setting,’ ‘Life Coach’ (hence the need to laser focus your keywords vs. your customers in your keyword worksheet, as you have to KNOW what you want to target, first!).
Then, perhaps 1/2 of your home page will be ‘static / stable’ content and the other half will be your blog, news, frequently updating and changing items. That is actually a great combination for an effective SEO-friendly home page.
