Question: Should images be linked to a flickr account?
Answer: Images are important to SEO, but significantly less important the the HTML tag structure and embedded keywords (keyword heavy content). That said, the most important thing to do is to use the ALT attribute with the IMG tag and embed your target keywords. Make sure that EVERY important image has a keyword-heavy description.
I would recommend locating them on your own website, and not on Flickr per se. FlickR is really a social media site.
