Question: I understand you don’t want us to be overwhelmed by doing too much too soon. How long do you think we should expect to take to implement an efficient web site?
Answer: Of course the answer here is ‘it depends.’ I teach SEO like physical fitness. First you have to know where you stand. Measure yourself vs. your keywords, using rank checker. Then decide on a plan of action. Do the easiest things first. One of the major issues is to make sure that each TITLE tag on the website is unique, accurate, and contains your target keywords.
Changes can be seen on Google pretty frequently, depending on how you are indexed (we explain how to do that, too). After a major push of, say, 20 to 30 hours, you can get a small business website in shape. At that point, it might require a few hours per week to keep it Google fresh for SEO.
