Question: Is <keywords> <>keywords> tag deprecated and if so what to use when choose keywords
Answer: I get this question all the time. I would sometimes like to shoot the person who created the META KEYWORDS tag. It is ignored. Google, Yahoo, Bing – none of them pay any attention to it. Use it if you like – it won’t hurt you but probably will do little to help you.
Unfortunately some people think that all you do need to do is use it. Nothing can be further from the truth. You DO need to weave your keyword into other major tags like the TITLE tag, which I teach in our sessions on keywords and on page tags.
