Question: What about sites with hidden text of city names and zip codes and such
Answer: Dangerous question! Google’s rule of thumb is to never, ever, show one thing to Google and another to the humans who actually use the Web. So doing tricks like white text on a white background, or using CSS / Style sheets to hide text, will annoy Google. Worst case – Google will ban you from the Google index.
These so called ‘black hat’ SEO techniques aren’t really that great anyway. If you provide content that is keyword heavy and uses page tags to emphasize the proper keywords, you will do fine. Tricks like hidden text aren’t just dangerous – they aren’t really necessary.
