Question: What is the ideal paid adword budget that a small company should consider? I realize all industries are different, but are there any averages that make sense?
Answer: There isn’t really an answer here. What is a better way to look at it is your sales funnel. Many businesses need registrations – such as attorneys or high tech firms. They might take 100 sales ‘leads’ to generate one sale, with a true value of $1000 in profit. So what you should do is work backwards from the sales value to the number of ‘leads’ you need to get that sale, and then therefore to what is a rational cost for AdWords.
