Question: Keyword Density – a lot of SEO experts (Tod Malicoat, for example) claim that keyword density does not matter in SEO rankings. Do you disagree?
Answer: Are you sure that they said this? They might have indicated that keyword density matters less than weaving the keywords inside important tags, like the TITLE tag. In that I would agree. But keywords definitely matter to Google, and keywords inside the BODY tag – I.e., beefy content with lots of keywords in real language syntax, DEFINITELY matter to Google a lot. There might also be some confusion about the META KEYWORD tag which does NOT matter.
Many times, people here ‘Keywords don’t matter’ when what is said is ‘The META KEYWORD tag doesn’t matter’ or ‘Keyword density matters less than keyword / tag weaving.’ That sort of thing.
