Question: Is it bad that my first (home) page is a totally Flash page?
Answer: Yes, Adobe Flash cannot really be read by Google or any search engine for that matter.
But Flash is a wonderful thing. It makes websites come alive in vibrant, dynamic colors. So the solution is to mix Flash with keyword heavy text that is Google / SEO friendly. There are two solutions. 1) Put heavy text below the fold, so that the humans see the Flash on the top, and the search engines can index or be excited about the keywords at the bottom, and/or 2) have some pages on your website that are keyword-heavy / Google friendly.
Not every page on your website needs to be Google friendly. Just some. So you can have your Flash cake and eat it too, as they might say.
