Question: How fast can you move up in ranking [on Google]?
Answer: This question is actually more interesting than it might appear. As Google has moved toward real-time search, it emphasizes news and new content much, much more than in years past. So if your website has a good reputation, you can actually very quickly get to the top by issuing news / news releases and syndicating this content (we teach an entire hour on news).
That said, this strategy tends to be very quick and doesn’t last that long. Your site might catapult to the top for a day, or a week, and then fall down by the wayside. The trick is to ‘train’ Google to keep you towards the top by providing the SEO muscle behind the scenes. SEO is sort of like waving the red flag at the bull (news / new content) and then keeping its attention (the bull fight).
So it can be pretty quick, but it takes staying power to stay there!
