Question: How often do ‘Google-bots’ update news articles?
Answer: Because of real-time search, Google is getting faster and faster at indexing news. The one big advantage to including news to your day-to-day SEO, is that you train Google to index your site frequently. If you post new news to your website weekly, over time you can spur a weekly indexing process by Google. Google ‘learns’ how frequently you change your content!
In addition, you can submit your Blog to Google at http://blogsearch.Google.com/ping. But the issue here is that once submitted, you will generally appear on the BLOG tab on Google, and not the more heavily trafficked main page. The advantage is that you go out on Google email alerts.
