Question: I’m confused on when you would pay. Why do people pay for the key word, if their website is optimized? It seems like they wouldn’t have to pay.. What am I missing?
Answer: There are certain advantages that Pay-per-click advertising has over free SEO.
Google AdWords is a great advertising program, when used wisely. First, get your SEO house in order, and then proceed to AdWords. It should work hand in glove with your SEO, perhaps advertising where you are weak, or in areas like geotargeting where SEO runs into limitations.
