Question: Is SEO Certification actually useful (aside from gaining the technical knowledge) in getting into the IT specialized field?
Answer: Of course you hit the nail on the head here. It’s the real knowledge that matters, not the piece of paper. There are quite a few services out there, and many give certification. We provide a certificate if needed at the end of our courses. But to date, there isn’t really an industry standard on what qualifies as SEO knowledge or certification. It’s a bit of the wild wild west. Probably the most established organization is SEMPO (http://www.sempo.org/home/).
