Question: What is the process of decididing what landing page to use/optimise? Where does the process start? Reverse-engineer from the actions I want visitors to take? Only because, every page of my product catalog should be a landing pageNAnks are in our your site map?
Answer: As always, start with your target keywords. Identify keywords / keyphrases that are high value to you and high volume. Then build out an SEO friendly landing page for each.
Remember that anyone can land on any page on your website as well. So if an SEO Landing Page means one that targets a particular search query, then create those. But remember for your other pages to hopefully have a clear action for your entire website. For most companies, this is a ‘registration’ for a free consultation, newsletter, white paper, or what not. For some, it is a click-n-buy purchase.
Try to make every page on your website lead towards that sales goal – both regular pages and SEO landing pages.
