Question: When I put my curser on the page rank icon it says “no page rank information available” Why might that be? The site is CNN / subpage.
Answer: The Google Toolbar isn’t perfect first of all. It’s a rather crude measurement of PageRank. Secondly, technically speaking, PageRank is URL SPECIFIC meaning it exists for every URL on the Internet. So even though CNN (http://www.cnn.com/ – home page) is a TEN, subordinate, new pages on CNN technically have a PageRank of zero.
I just go to the home page of each site to get a ROUGH estimation of the site’s authority. Take it all with a grain of salt. These are very rough measurements!
