Question: If your service is somewhat unique and the few competitors we have rarely show up on the first page on the keyword searches people would use to find us, Should we look at the non related pages to help with keywords or should we just rely on looking at keyword volumes?
Answer: If you are doing well on certain specific keywords, then absolutely branch out. In fact, that is how I recommend anyone proceed. Start with your highest priority long tail keywords. Optimize on those first. Then as you do well on those, move on to adjacent markets and other ideas. It’s all about focus and priorities.
