Question: Where can you go to get an introduction to html so that I have that info my web site is interfaced from homestad siter builder so I don’t know anything about html I need to understand the basics here to see what works on our web software, etc. thanks these classes are really helpful. hope you have a good weekend
Answer: After using the simple WYSIWYG editors, you should progress to using more complex ones like WordPress (http://www.WordPress.com/). But even WordPress has severe limitations in terms of SEO. The best, most perfect pages must be created by true HTML editors. Dreamweaver (http://www.adobe.com/) is the most powerful, more popular one. But it is very complex.
For small website, I like these two. Coffeecup (http://www.coffeecup.com/), and HTML Validator (http://www.htmlvalidator.com/). I use HTML validator, because I really like to validate my HTML and Coffeecup’s validation is inferior. But both are very popular.
Once you educate yourself on HTML, you then need to transition to making your HTML pages locally and then ‘uploading’ them to your ISP. You’ll have to check with your ISP to find the FTP settings necessary to be able to directly upload your HTML pages. All of them support this – you just have to ask.
HTML can be some work to learn, but if you are really seeking to dominate in SEO you have to know HTML and be able to work at the direct HTML level. But before you take that plunge, you can work within HOMESTEAD to optimize your TITLE tags and write better, keyword heavy content. So one step at a time!
